Denmark Working Holiday Visa for New Zealanders

Eligibility

To be eligible you must:

be aged between 18 and 30 inclusive
be a citizen of New Zealand
be outside of Denmark at the time of the application
must not have previously participated in the Danish Working Holiday program
establish that you have a good chance of finding temporary employment
have a return ticket or sufficient funds to buy one
meet health and character requirements
not be accompanied by children

Visa Fee

The visa is AUD$260 payable by bank draft. Plus a NZ$65 handling fee payable to whichever Danish Consulate you lodge your application with within New Zealand.

Proof of Funds

You must have approximately DDK 24,000 for the duration of your stay.

Quota

There are 200 visas available each year on a first come first served basis.

Validity

The visa is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

Employment Restrictions

You may not work for longer than half of your time in Denmark and may not work with any one employer for longer than 3 months.

Re-Entry

You may leave and re-enter multiple times but the time allowed for your visa will not be paused while you are away.

How to Apply

To download the application form and write 'Working Holiday' in the space where you are required to state the purpose of your stay in Denmark.

Send the following to the Royal Danish Consulate-General in Sydney (address below):

Two signed copies of the application form
Two passport photos
Your passport
Proof that you have sufficient funds to obtain a return ticket and to support yourself while in Denmark
Your itinerary
A bank draft for AU$260

Contact the Consulate-General before sending your applciation to make sure you have all the documentation required.

General Comments

Working holiday visa applications are processed in Copenhagen and can take up to two months. Participants may enrol in one training or study course of up to three months. Applicants must
